Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and related procedures to produce detailed sectional anatomic images. This role requires technical expertise and compassionate patient care in a professional imaging environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct MRI procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the imaging protocol and is properly documented for licensed practitioners.
• Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety.
• Operate MRI equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate scanning parameters and protocols as directed by radiologists.
• Position and immobilize patients comfortably to best capture the anatomical area of interest.
• Apply magnet safety principles to protect patients, self, and others from hazards.
• Assist licensed physicians during procedures and verify all documentation.
• Address both physical and psychological patient needs throughout the imaging process.
• Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media safely as prescribed.
• Maintain and care for imaging equipment and technical instruments, ensuring safety and functionality.
• Evaluate image quality, adjust display parameters, and produce properly identified hard copy records.
• Initiate basic life support when necessary and perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and their families about tests and procedures in a clear, reassuring manner.
• Manage assigned work areas, report equipment issues, and maintain cleanliness and supply levels.
• Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties.
• Stay current with sterile supply techniques and anatomical knowledge relevant to MRI procedures.
• Record patient histories and pertinent information accurately in electronic systems.
• Handle imaging media requests appropriately, ensuring proper authorization.

This position may require on-call availability to provide technical support outside regular hours, with scheduling subject to staffing needs and policies.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Proven experience as a radiographer with knowledge sufficient to perform MRI procedures and maintain ongoing education in cross-sectional anatomy.
• Computer proficiency.

Licensure and Certifications:

• State certification as required.
• Registered Technologist (R.T.(R)) with ARRT or equivalent in good standing.
• ARRT certification as R.T.(MR) at hire or obtained within two years of hire.

Work Shift: Night shift, approximately 32 hours per week.

Location: Serving the Midwest region of the United States.
