Job Summary: This role involves performing limited nursing, environmental, and nutritional tasks to support and maintain the health and well-being of residents in a community care setting. The Assistant Resident Care Aide administers medication reminders and documents treatments as prescribed by physicians, assists residents with special needs, and monitors vital signs as necessary.

Essential Functions: Responsibilities include administering and charting medications, assisting residents with daily activities, measuring and recording vital signs, ordering medications under guidance, preparing monthly summaries and documentation, conducting periodic resident checks, transporting residents to medical appointments, and maintaining clean living environments. Collaboration with staff to provide nutritionally balanced meals and snacks is also required.

Non-Essential Functions: May perform cooking duties as needed and other tasks assigned. Maintains daily records of residents’ activities and conditions.

Education & Qualification Requirements: Preferred candidates hold certification as a Qualified Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant, or possess equivalent experience. Must be capable of maintaining accurate routine records and files related to residents’ health needs. Ability to administer medications according to physician instructions and perform simple medical procedures such as taking blood pressure and temperature is essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required, along with the ability to interpret menus and food preparation procedures.

Responsibility: The position demands meticulous record-keeping with a high degree of accuracy. Medication administration is closely monitored, and adherence to detailed physician directions is critical to avoid adverse effects on residents.

Working Relationships: The role involves collaboration with supervisors, department associates, residents, physicians, and pharmacists to ensure residents’ needs are met effectively.

Work Shift: Third shift, full-time (40 hours per week).
