Job Summary: Provide compassionate clinical support and assist in patient care management within a busy rheumatology practice. Responsibilities vary daily based on practice needs, ensuring flexible and responsive patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Provide reassurance, education, and clear guidance to patients.
• Facilitate smooth healthcare delivery during patient visits by preparing patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, and documenting medical histories and chief complaints accurately.
• Observe and communicate abnormal patient signs to physicians, ensuring thorough documentation in electronic medical records and accurate billing entries.
• Support physicians with testing, treatments, minor procedures, and medication management, including sample medication logs and patient consents for invasive procedures or immunizations.
• Coordinate patient testing, referrals, and follow-up communications, ensuring patients understand physician instructions and treatment plans.
• Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to cleaning protocols to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
• Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned to support clinical operations.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.

Work Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm (Regional healthcare facility in the Midwest)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: PRN/Part-time
