Essential Responsibilities:
Fiscal Responsibility
- Complete assignments within delegated timeframes.
- Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and transportation.
- Conduct hourly rounds to collect and transport specimens efficiently.
- Maintain transportation area cleanliness, restock supplies, and report equipment issues.
- Manage time and supplies effectively, responding promptly to communications.
- Support staffing and scheduling needs by adhering to policies and communicating availability.
Quality
- Collaborate as a team member in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide compassionate care tailored to patient age and diagnosis.
- Suggest improvements to enhance patient experience.
- Document care activities according to unit standards and stay current with policies.
Patient Satisfaction
- Advocate for patient rights and promote a positive care model.
- Enhance patient comfort by providing necessary items and clear instructions.
- Adapt routines to individual patient needs and assist nursing staff in improving satisfaction.
- Foster positive communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Patient Safety
- Safely transport patients using proper identification and fall prevention techniques.
- Prepare patients for transport, ensuring all medical accessories are managed correctly.
- Provide physical and emotional support during transport and initiate basic life support if needed.
- Coordinate patient arrival and departure with relevant departments.
