Job Summary: This role supports and extends the physician's care by providing patient-centered evaluation and communication. The provider delivers care under physician supervision and collaborates closely to ensure comprehensive patient management. All activities comply with applicable state regulations governing advanced practice providers.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate with autonomy using strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in both acute care and clinic settings.
• Conduct detailed patient and family assessments, including health histories, physical exams, and risk evaluations.
• Order and interpret laboratory, radiographic, and bedside data relevant to patient diagnoses.
• Establish medical diagnoses and order diagnostic studies.
• Perform and monitor therapeutic procedures, documenting all findings and plans in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other healthcare disciplines to direct individualized patient care.
• Prescribe and regulate medications per physician agreements and prescriptive authority laws.
• Complete history and physical exams for admissions, observations, consultations, or clinic visits.
• Perform daily bedside evaluations and document progress notes for physician review (inpatient).
• Prepare discharge paperwork and summaries timely for assigned patients.
• Write admitting, daily, and discharge orders appropriate to patient condition (inpatient).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, referring physicians, and support staff.
• Participate in quality, safety, and utilization studies to enhance patient care and cost-effectiveness.
• Alert physicians to acute patient status changes and critical findings for timely intervention.
• Comply with medical staff rules, regulations, and health information management policies.
• Prepare and submit billing materials promptly.
• Share on-call duties with physician backup as required.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Previous experience as a Physician Assistant preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing continuing medical education.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• Licensed to practice in the applicable state.

Work Shift: 7:00am – 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
