This role involves providing physician-ordered nutritional services that respect individual dietary preferences and ensure accurate, timely meal delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Call Center Specialist: Efficiently obtain and process meal orders from patients and visitors, ensuring compliance with diet orders and maintaining accurate electronic records. Serve as a liaison between nutrition services and nursing units, addressing patient concerns and coordinating with dietitians.
• Room Service Specialist: Professionally serve meals, assist patients with meal ordering systems, and assess their ability to participate. Communicate effectively with nursing staff and dietitians, monitor patient needs, and maintain pantry supplies.
• Expeditor: Coordinate meal assembly during tray line processes, verify meal accuracy, ensure timely delivery, and maintain food quality and safety standards. Operate cooking equipment safely and follow proper portioning and plating guidelines.
• Food Service Starter: Initiate meal assembly, check food acceptability, replenish supplies, and maintain sanitation and nutritional quality. Deliver meal carts and nourishment efficiently, clean equipment and dishes, and support overall food service operations.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in nutrition services or food service within a healthcare environment is beneficial.

Work Environment

This full-time position operates on the 2nd shift, providing 37.5 scheduled weekly hours in a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest.
