Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that emphasizes best practices and exceptional customer service. Pediatric nursing experience is highly valued.

Work Areas: Acute care settings including medical and surgical units, emergency departments, intensive care, childbirth center, pediatric unit, operating room, perianesthesia, endoscopy/GI, and cardiac catheterization lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly about patient progress and challenges, ensuring positive patient experiences through rounding and timely responses.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, leadership opportunities, and evidence-based practice.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentorship and feedback.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required and maintained upon hire.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift:

Third shift, part-time, approximately 24 hours weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
