Job Summary: Support nursing practice and patient care delivery through a blend of direct patient interaction, effective communication, and clerical duties during night shifts in an emergency department setting.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently manage supplies and equipment, complete assignments promptly, adhere to shift schedules, and support unit goals to minimize waste.
• Quality: Participate in documentation per unit standards, stay current with policy updates, problem-solve, multitask within scope, and contribute ideas to improve unit flow and patient experience.
• Patient Satisfaction: Promote positive patient experiences through timely responses, professional conduct, purposeful rounding, and maintaining a quiet, respectful environment.
• Patient Safety: Practice safe patient mobilization, use two patient identifiers for all tasks, report unusual occurrences, and tailor care routines to individual patient needs.
• Professional Growth: Share knowledge with colleagues, demonstrate leadership, participate in training and council activities, and seek learning opportunities.
• Customer Service: Engage patients and families with professionalism, flexibility, and teamwork, practicing AIDET communication techniques and fostering positive interdepartmental relationships.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED required; a CNA license with 5+ years of experience may substitute.
• Basic BLS certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
