Job Summary: Support nursing practice and patient care delivery through a blend of direct care, communication, and clerical duties in a surgical unit setting. This role is vital in ensuring smooth unit operations and enhancing patient experiences.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently manage supplies and equipment, complete tasks promptly, and adhere to timekeeping policies. Embrace productivity standards and support unit goals to reduce waste.
• Quality: Participate in documentation per unit standards, stay current with policy updates, and demonstrate problem-solving and multitasking skills within your scope. Offer suggestions to improve workflow and patient care.
• Patient Satisfaction: Promote positive patient interactions through timely responses, professional conduct, purposeful rounding, and maintaining a quiet, respectful environment.
• Patient Safety: Practice safe patient mobilization, use two patient identifiers for all tasks, report unusual occurrences, and adjust care routines to individual needs. Adhere strictly to HIPAA and social media policies.
• Professional Growth: Share knowledge with colleagues, participate in orientation and cross-training, demonstrate leadership, and engage in ongoing learning opportunities.
• Customer Service: Engage patients and families with professionalism, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach. Practice AIDET communication techniques and foster positive interdepartmental relationships.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED required; a CNA license with 5+ years of experience may substitute for diploma/GED.
• Basic BLS certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Work Shift: Third shift, approximately 30 hours weekly.
