Job Summary: This full-time Medical Assistant role involves working varied shifts, including three 12-hour shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM during one week, and two 12-hour shifts plus two weekend shifts from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM the following week. The position supports healthcare delivery and patient care management in a clinical setting, adapting daily duties to meet the evolving needs of the practice.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal clinical signs to identify patients at risk. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging as appropriate, while offering reassurance, clear education, and guidance to patients.
• Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits, including accurate and up-to-date medical record documentation.
• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints; observe and communicate abnormal findings to physicians.
• Assist physicians with testing, treatments, minor surgeries, and physicals, including applying splints and dressings, managing sample medications, and coordinating referrals and admissions.
• Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed, ensuring all patient care areas and equipment are well-stocked, clean, and sterile.
• Maintain organization of patient education materials and supplies, ensuring exam rooms meet cleanliness and protocol standards.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned, adapting to changing responsibilities as needed.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program is required.
