Job Summary: Provide essential respiratory therapy services within a sleep diagnostic center, supporting both inpatient and outpatient care. Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes through accurate testing and communication.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Administer diagnostic tests and treatments including oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, baseline sleep studies, and CPAP titration while monitoring patient responses.
• Operate specialized equipment such as oxygen flowmeters, pulse oximeters, sleep test consoles, CPAP/BiPAP devices, thermistors, and video monitoring tools.
• Prepare and dismantle sleep and respiratory therapy equipment for patient care.
• Process daily patient charges in accordance with established policies.
• Document clinical observations, patient tolerance, adverse events, therapy details, body positioning, snoring, and special testing results in medical records.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, including emergency interventions like CPR.
• After competency validation, initiate and maintain CPAP or BiPAP settings following protocols.
• Conduct patient interviews and assessments, performing required testing per departmental guidelines.
• Maintain accurate departmental statistical records.
• Consult with physicians, medical directors, and healthcare professionals to determine appropriate testing and therapy methods.
• Provide compassionate care tailored to patient age, diagnosis, and disabilities.
• Promote a safe environment for patients at all times.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a sleep laboratory setting is essential.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Preferred: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).
• Considered: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) candidates willing to complete A-STEP Online Self Study Modules within two years or those enrolled in/graduate of polysomnography programs accredited by CAAHEP or CoARC.

Work Shift: Fourth shift, scheduled as needed.
