Job Summary: Provide essential support to nursing practices and patient care delivery through a blend of direct patient assistance, effective communication, client care support, and clerical duties. This role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care within an environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service, fostering strong relationship-based care.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Fiscal Responsibility: Complete assignments within delegated timeframes. Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and transportation. Conduct hourly rounds to collect and transport specimens efficiently. Maintain transportation area cleanliness, restock supplies, report equipment issues, and manage work orders.
- Time and Supply Management: Use time productively, respond promptly to communications, support scheduling and supply changes to ensure quality and cost-effective care, and use supplies judiciously.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Notify at least two hours before shift if unable to work, comply with staffing policies, seek approvals for time off or overtime, and adhere to scheduled work and break times.
- Quality: Collaborate as a team player in continuous quality improvement initiatives, apply sound judgment in caring for patients of varying ages and diagnoses, suggest improvements to enhance patient experience, and maintain up-to-date documentation per unit standards.
- Patient Satisfaction: Advocate for patient rights, enhance patient comfort and cooperation, tailor routines to individual needs, assist nursing staff in improving patient care satisfaction, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Patient Safety: Safely transport patients using proper identification and fall prevention techniques, prepare patients for transport, attend to physical and psychological needs during transport, practice aseptic techniques, and initiate basic life support if necessary.
- Professional Growth: Recognize personal limitations and seek assistance, engage in self-directed learning, share knowledge with colleagues, demonstrate leadership as a role model, identify professional development needs, and participate in departmental goals and training.
- Customer Service: Uphold high customer service standards, address ethical concerns, foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and coworkers, practice AIDET communication techniques, and maintain a professional and supportive environment.

4th Shift (overnight hours)
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
