Job Summary: The Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides visionary leadership and operational oversight for nursing and clinical services within a prominent healthcare system in the Midwest region. This role is responsible for setting strategic goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety. The CNO leads initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, optimize clinical operations, and support associate engagement and development.

Essential Functions: Lead and manage nursing and clinical operations, ensuring quality assurance and performance improvement. Promote a culture prioritizing patient and associate safety and regulatory compliance with state nursing practice acts and healthcare regulations. Collaborate with physicians, leaders, and teams to implement nursing strategies and improvement projects. Oversee development and administration of nursing policies, evidence-based standards, and delivery models. Drive budget management, cost containment, and market competitiveness while supporting business development and strategic planning. Foster strong partnerships with associates, providers, and community stakeholders to enhance service delivery and reputation. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for nursing leadership and staff.

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A Master's degree is mandatory for this leadership position.

Experience: A minimum of seven years of progressive healthcare management experience is highly preferred, including leadership of inpatient units and external representation of the organization.

Requirements: Active Registered Nurse license in the relevant state. Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels, strategic and operational leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. Ability to travel between facilities as needed.
