Job Summary: Join a compassionate clinical team dedicated to supporting pediatric patient care and health management. This role involves assisting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care tailored to the needs of young patients in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging calls appropriately while offering reassurance, clear education, and guidance to patients and families.
• Ensure smooth healthcare delivery throughout patient visits by accurately completing and updating medical records. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Observe and communicate abnormal patient signs to physicians, documenting findings thoroughly in medical records. Confirm patient understanding of physician instructions upon discharge.
• Assist with testing and treatment procedures under physician supervision, including applying splints and dressings, managing sample medications, and coordinating necessary referrals and admissions.
• Support minor surgical preparations and physical exams, ensuring proper consents are obtained before invasive procedures or immunizations.
• Distribute educational materials and assist patients in understanding treatment plans and medication usage.
• Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed.
• Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, and ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinical operations.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or an accredited Nursing Program.

Work Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm, 40 hours per week.
