Job Summary: This role involves providing expert nursing care during night shifts in a critical care setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. The position emphasizes efficient resource management, quality patient care, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently use resources and supplies to promote cost savings. Manage time productively by delegating assignments and scheduling based on patient acuity and census. Engage in education on product and practice changes to support non-salary cost savings.
• Quality: Participate in quality improvement activities such as meaningful use and value-based purchasing. Demonstrate critical thinking, multitasking, and thorough documentation in line with unit and hospital standards. Provide accountable nursing care, collaborate with the team, and apply evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
• Community Service and Patient Satisfaction: Represent the healthcare organization positively in community events. Actively contribute to patient satisfaction through rounding, timely responses, service recovery, and professionalism. Maintain a therapeutic environment and support healthcare students and their programs.
• Patient Safety: Incorporate safe patient care practices including fall prevention, safe mobilization, medication administration, and patient identification. Report near misses and participate in error reduction processes. Adhere to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, national safety standards, and social media policies.
• Professional Growth: Demonstrate leadership through charge RN duties, mentoring, and precepting. Maintain licensure and pursue certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities. Stay current with practice standards and track professional development.
• Customer Service: Deliver care based on Relationship Based Care and unit nursing models, promoting holistic care and interdepartmental collaboration. Uphold customer service standards, address ethical issues, and foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Proficiency with computer skills is necessary.
• At least three years of recent critical care nursing experience is required.

Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse licensure by the appropriate state board.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications as required.

Work Shift: Night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
