Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing radionuclides for diagnostic imaging, supporting licensed practitioners in accurate patient diagnosis.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
• Schedule nuclear medicine exams for both inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Verify physician orders and prepare individualized doses for each patient, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Operate specialized nuclear medicine equipment, such as scintillation scanners, to detect and measure radioactive isotopes in targeted body areas.
• Prepare and administer radioactive tracers, adhering strictly to radiation safety protocols to prevent overexposure.
• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, easing anxieties and encouraging cooperation.
• Assist patients in positioning for optimal imaging results.
• Maintain confidentiality and detailed records of tests, results, isotope usage, and staff dosimetry.
• Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free conditions in all work areas and equipment.
• Participate actively in radiation safety committees and quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of nuclear medicine equipment, documenting all activities.
• Provide basic life support when necessary and engage in ongoing professional education.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide technical support outside regular hours.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of at least a one-year AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Proficiency with computer systems relevant to the role.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential from the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
• State health board certification as required.
