General Summary

The Patient Services Representative is essential in ensuring smooth patient experiences by greeting patients warmly, assisting with their needs, and accurately registering demographic and insurance information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with respect and professionalism.
• Assist patients with inquiries and needs promptly.
• Register patients by collecting complete demographic and insurance details.
• Enter patient information accurately into electronic systems with minimal errors.
• Collect co-payments efficiently.
• Answer phone calls promptly and triage patient inquiries.
• Communicate patient care needs effectively with clinical teams.
• Manage incoming referrals, including gathering necessary records, films, and orders for appointments.
• Scan and organize patient documents within charts.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
• Track and obtain authorizations as required.
• Collaborate with team members to complete work queues in EPIC software.
• Identify and correct errors in patient data.
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

At least two years of medical clerical experience in an office setting preferred, including proficiency with word processing and personal computing. Experience with medical insurance processes is advantageous.

Certification/License

No certification or license required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Requires close mental and visual attention for extended periods. Must handle stressful situations due to customer demands. Physical ability to move throughout the facility, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping.
