Education

Completion of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program is required.

Experience

At least one year of experience in respiratory therapy is preferred to ensure familiarity with patient care and respiratory procedures.

Certification and Licensure

Active credentialing by the National Board for Respiratory Care is highly preferred. Candidates must hold a valid state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care, including administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents within the scope of practice.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, monitoring signs and symptoms to optimize treatment outcomes and patient safety.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare policies.
• Adhere to safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling to ensure a secure care environment.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, communicating patient information to enhance care coordination and patient experience.
• Demonstrate dependability by meeting deadlines, managing workload efficiently, and adapting positively to changes in the healthcare environment.
• Participate in departmental projects, assist with orientation and clinical instruction, and foster a supportive team atmosphere.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is expected, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols.
