Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing critical support in an intensive care telemetry unit. As an Arrhythmia Technician, you will play a vital role in monitoring cardiac rhythms and supporting nursing staff with clerical and communication duties.

General Summary

This role involves continuous observation of telemetry monitors, ensuring patient safety through accurate rhythm identification and timely communication with clinical staff. You will also manage unit clerical tasks, helping maintain smooth operations within the patient care environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously, identifying and documenting significant changes.
• Ensure all cardiac monitoring equipment is functioning properly and notify appropriate staff of any issues.
• Communicate promptly with nurses and shift managers regarding patient rhythm changes or monitoring difficulties.
• Perform clerical duties including filing, printing, copying, charge entry, and supply ordering.
• Maintain accurate patient logs and ensure proper labeling and preparation of charts for scanning.
• Manage phone communications with professionalism and customer service skills.
• Collaborate with ancillary departments to coordinate tests and procedures.
• Adapt positively to changes and uphold organizational values and policies.

Education

High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience

At least one year of experience in clerical, receptionist, or hospital support roles is preferred. Strong organizational, time management, and basic computer skills are essential.

Certification

Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position demands considerable mental focus and physical activity, including walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
