Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing essential diagnostic ultrasound services. As an Echo/Vascular Sonographer, you will perform cardiac and vascular sonography procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the diagnostic process.

General Summary

Utilize your expertise in ultrasound technology to conduct diagnostic examinations, interpret sonographic images, and communicate findings effectively to physicians. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting quality assurance initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety policies including infection control, contrast agent administration, and patient handling.
• Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography exams with precision and care.
• Analyze sonograms and synthesize information to assist in accurate diagnosis.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies, reporting malfunctions promptly.
• Participate in laboratory accreditation and quality assurance activities.
• Exercise independent judgment to distinguish between normal and pathological findings.

Education

Completion of a Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer program is required. Candidates must be eligible to sit for the RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) and/or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) credentials or an equivalent cardiovascular certification.

Experience

At least one year of experience in adult cardiac or vascular sonography is necessary to succeed in this role.

Certification and Licenses

• RDCS and/or RVT certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
• Registration in Echocardiography or Vascular Ultrasound within 18 months of hire.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 150 pounds. Tasks include pushing, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching, along with sustained mental concentration.
