Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Student Nurse Intern specializing in Surgical Orthopedics. Under the guidance of a licensed nurse, you will engage in hands-on patient care, supporting individuals through various stages of recovery and treatment.

General Summary

Assist with patient care tailored to age and developmental needs, including daily hygiene, skin care, mobility support, and nutritional assistance. Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, feeding, and monitoring intake and output.

Clinical Duties

• Collect specimens and perform vital signs monitoring
• Administer sit baths, postmortem care, and apply therapeutic devices such as ted hose and ice packs
• Support quality improvement initiatives and foster teamwork
• Perform technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, IV discontinuation, suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, and patient assessments
• Assist with intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, NG tube care, and educate patients and families alongside primary nurses
• Document all care activities accurately in medical records

Education

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education without licensure.

Experience

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.
