General Summary

This role involves designing and facilitating group sessions that support patient recovery and well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care and safety throughout the patient’s stay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling to maintain a secure care environment.
• Deliver high-quality group therapy sessions aligned with patient needs and clinical guidelines.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments to enhance care quality, safety, and provide accurate updates to healthcare team members.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to foster understanding and support health outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while promoting teamwork and accountability.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate Degree program in a related field is required.

Experience

One year of relevant experience is preferred; practicum or internship experience is acceptable. Two years of experience may substitute for each year of college if holding an associate degree.

Certification and Licenses

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Completion of a facility-recognized de-escalation course within three months of hire.
• Enrollment in an appropriate Baccalaureate Degree program within two years of hire is recommended.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires considerable mental concentration and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
