This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role supports cardiology providers by delivering comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe handling procedures.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.
• Support examinations within the scope of LPN licensure and perform phone triage.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and addressing patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight.
• Manage and update medication lists and patient summaries.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients on electronic health record portals and provide supportive teaching.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary precertifications.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.

Education

Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of practice and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
