Join a dynamic healthcare organization serving the heart of the Midwest region as an Assistant Director of Patient Billing. This role supports the Director in overseeing all patient billing activities, focusing on maximizing cash flow through efficient billing operations management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned team members and collaborate with billing managers to develop and implement departmental strategies using system reports and dashboards to meet quality and performance goals.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for training, special projects, system conversions, and other assignments.
• Provide education on billing processes and workflow improvements across multiple staff levels to optimize system use.
• Analyze patterns in denials, reimbursement variances, payer timeliness, and billing errors to enhance collections and reduce mistakes.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining department policies and procedures, including employee evaluations and personnel actions.
• Maintain Medicare bad-debt cost reports by tracking billings, monitoring collections, and compiling relevant data.
• Ensure billing operations comply with federal, state, and payer regulations and guidelines.
• Manage access to payer portals and maintain clearinghouse data integrity.
• Lead efforts to align departmental culture and strategic initiatives with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field is required.

Experience

Three to five years of experience in patient billing or a similar department is necessary, with at least one year in a management or supervisory role preferred. Experience in healthcare finance operations is advantageous.

Certification

Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification is preferred.

Mental and Physical Requirements

The role demands strong concentration, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under time constraints. Extensive computer use with frequent interruptions is expected.
