Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Patient Transfer Assistant. This role focuses on the safe and efficient transport of patients between clinical, ancillary, and support areas using wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers. You will assist patients who may require oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, or other special equipment during transport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport patients to designated locations while adhering to established policies and federal and state regulations, including The Joint Commission standards.
• Utilize proper lifting and transferring techniques and equipment to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
• Provide comfort and support to patients and their families, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and attentiveness to schedules.
• Document all patient transports accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Maintain communication with supervisors regarding transport completion and job tasks.
• Clean and sanitize transport equipment to maintain a healthy environment.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: Some patient care experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel is beneficial.

Requirements: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Mental and Physical Demands: This position requires close mental concentration and visual attention for extended periods. The role involves standing, sitting, lifting up to 35 pounds, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, turning, twisting, reaching, and near-constant walking. The work environment may include exposure to infectious diseases, chemicals, and occasional hostile situations. Proper use of lifting equipment is essential to prevent injury.
