Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest as a Clinical Intern in the Intensive Care Unit. Under the guidance of a licensed nurse, you will engage in a variety of patient care activities tailored to meet the developmental and age-specific needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily hygiene including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and personal grooming.
• Provide skin care while taking precautions to prevent skin breakdown.
• Support physical activities such as repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
• Help meet nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions.
• Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
• Perform technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, nasopharyngeal suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, and patient assessments.
• Educate patients and families in collaboration with the primary nurse.
• Maintain clear communication with the primary nurse and promptly report any changes in patient condition.
• Document all patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in medical records.

Education

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed a nursing program but not yet licensed.

Experience

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.

Certification/License

Not applicable.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role requires significant mental focus and physical stamina, including frequent walking, lifting, turning, and other physical activities. Exposure to infectious diseases and other health hazards is possible.
