Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your journey in medical imaging begins. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of a Registered Radiologic Technologist and Chief Technologist, while reporting to the Director. As a Medical Imaging Student Technologist, you will assist in providing patient services using radiologic imaging equipment, ensuring accurate records of exams for radiologist interpretation. You may also support other imaging divisions as you develop your skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and courtesy.
• Verify patient identity and confirm exams according to established policies.
• Conduct MRI screening interviews to identify examination areas and detect contraindications.
• Review prescriptions, patient history, and obtain consent when necessary.
• Maintain awareness of patient needs while assisting technologists.
• Manage inventory by monitoring and replenishing supplies.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Coordinate patient schedules with clerical staff and technologists to maintain efficient workflow.
• Perform scheduling and registration duties as required.

Education

Applicants must be currently enrolled in good standing in a Radiology (Imaging) college or certification program.

Experience

Completion of at least one year of training in the field is required.

Certification/License

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position demands close mental and visual attention for extended periods. The role can be stressful due to patient conditions and customer demands. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, carrying or lifting up to 35 pounds, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping. Ability to move throughout the department independently is necessary.

Working Conditions

Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation exists. The role requires availability for scheduled or on-call shifts, including various days and times, to ensure continuous patient care.
