General Summary
The Epic Certified Provider Support Trainer leads the Electronic Health Record (EHR) training initiatives and ongoing support for provider staff within a regional healthcare system in the Midwest. This role involves designing innovative curricula, including virtual and eLearning modules, and developing structured continuing education programs. Strong collaboration, coaching, and organizational skills are essential to success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage Epic training environment builds and maintenance, implement change requests to existing applications, educate staff on updates, review release notes, and prepare for planned upgrades. Develop relationships with department leaders, providers, and frontline employees to identify performance gaps and create effective learning interventions using best practices and instructional design principles. Translate clinical and non-clinical workflows and terminology into educational training content. Deliver classroom and virtual training sessions to provider staff, prepare lesson plans, and manage documentation. Develop and maintain knowledge management and eLearning resources, including ongoing education and provider efficiency training. Support continuous improvement by sharing Epic application expertise with teammates to foster collaboration. Provide additional education support outside the classroom as needed, including on-call phone coverage during business hours.

Education
A bachelor’s degree is preferred; a high school diploma is required.

Experience
3-5 years of Epic experience is preferred.

Certification/License
Epic certification or accreditation is preferred. Clinical licensure or healthcare experience is advantageous. Must obtain Epic certification or accreditation within 90 days of completing required training.

Mental/Physical Requirements
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and generate reports and documents. May occasionally work unusual hours to resolve project issues. Requires standing, walking, sitting, and moderate lifting (up to 15 lbs). Work environment includes office settings with noise and distractions, well-lit and climate-controlled areas, and extended computer use with potential visual or muscular discomfort. Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
