Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as an Administrative SBO Billing Specialist. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and financial counseling related to patient balances, including hospital and physician billing services. You will handle inbound and outbound calls to address patient inquiries and resolve outstanding balances with compassion and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for patient questions regarding coinsurance, copays, deductibles, and contractual adjustments.
• Resolve patient complaints related to billing and explain insurance coverage details.
• Contact guarantors about past due balances and process payments securely.
• Offer payment options such as monthly plans and bank loan financing through secure portals.
• Screen and assist patients with financial assistance applications for outstanding balances.
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines when handling patient information.
• Differentiates billing issues from patient care concerns and escalate appropriately.
• Reconcile business banking and credit card accounts accurately.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training in healthcare billing or customer service is preferred.

Experience

Previous experience in medical billing is highly preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and billing software or electronic data submission is advantageous.

Requirements

Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to understand and convey detailed information. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Comfortable working in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to noise and other conditions.
