Join a leading healthcare organization in the Midwest region as the Administrator overseeing oncology services. This role offers the opportunity to lead a comprehensive cancer institute, guiding clinical and business operations with a focus on compassionate patient care and strategic growth.
General Summary
Under general supervision, the Administrator is responsible for leadership, management, and financial oversight of the cancer institute. This includes directing strategic planning for oncology services and related programs within the health system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure high-quality, compassionate care and positive patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with medical staff and healthcare professionals to plan, organize, and oversee quality outcomes, risk management, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Effectively manage and supervise personnel, including evaluation, training, and motivation, while delegating responsibilities with clear accountability.
- Participate in developing and reviewing departmental policies to meet organizational goals and recommend improvements to executive leadership.
- Utilize planning, research, and foresight to make informed decisions aligned with health system objectives.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance operational efficiencies and outcomes.
- Develop and implement services that promote optimal healthcare delivery and exceptional customer service for patients, visitors, physicians, and employees.
- Foster a culture of service excellence and collaboration in planning, implementing, and evaluating healthcare standards.
- Maintain and build relationships with referring centers, providers, clinics, and affiliated programs.
- Enhance patient experience through best practices, care pathways, and effective communication.
- Drive employee engagement through strategic initiatives and activities.
- Oversee oncology outreach, education, screening, and community events.
- Lead programmatic growth and development of the cancer institute.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. A Master’s degree such as an MBA or MHA is preferred.
Experience
At least five years of managerial experience at a level equivalent to or higher than manager is required. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines from agencies such as The Joint Commission, OSHA, and state health departments is necessary.
Additional Skills
Proven business planning and program development skills with a successful track record in quality clinical service development.
Certification/License
None required.
Mental/Physical Requirements
Ability to maintain normal mental concentration with frequent periods of intense focus due to deadlines and sensitive situations. Must be able to move throughout the facility and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs., turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping frequently.
Working Conditions
Standard office environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and handle stressful situations effectively.
