Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical office serving the heart of the Midwest. This part-time Ambulatory RN role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established patient safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure optimal care.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
• Administer medications via oral, IM, SC, topical, and IV routes as ordered.
• Assist providers with procedures, instrument setup, and examinations within scope of practice.
• Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers, including communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints, care details, medication lists, and visit summaries accurately in medical records.
• Manage inventory of medications and supplies, maintain venous access devices, and administer IV push medications and flushes.
• Escort patients, obtain vital signs and weights, and educate patients on electronic health record portals.
• Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Provide patient teaching, supportive services, and training for RN, LPN, and MA staff in the clinic role.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, obtain precertifications as required.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program is required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Current RN license in a Compact state or the state of Missouri is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
