Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and skilled nursing care in a busy outpatient clinic setting. This role supports physicians and advanced practice providers by delivering patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education with professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established patient safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
• Administer medications via multiple routes including oral, IM, SC, topical, and IV.
• Assist providers with procedures, instrument setup, and examinations within scope of practice.
• Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers, including communicating test results and answering questions.
• Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in medical records.
• Manage medication and summary lists, maintain inventory of medications and supplies.
• Maintain venous access devices and administer IV push medications and flushes as ordered.
• Escort patients, obtain vital signs and weights, and educate patients on electronic health record portals.
• Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Provide patient teaching and supportive services as directed.
• Train nursing and medical assistant staff in clinic procedures.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and obtain necessary precertifications.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain excellent attendance.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program is required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Current RN license in a Compact state or the state of Missouri is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
