Education

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.

Experience

• At least one year of experience in a Joint Commission accredited hospital setting.
• Minimum one year in an acute rehabilitation facility or equivalent, focusing on adult patient care.
• Preferred: Six months of home care experience.
• Computer proficiency is a plus.

Certification and Licenses

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license valid in the state of practice.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.

Mental and Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including navigating stairs.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with keen visual acuity.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Capability to lift, transfer, and assist patients weighing from 10 to over 200 pounds.
• Safe operation of a motor vehicle is necessary.
