Join a dynamic healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest as a Student Nurse Intern in the Emergency Department. Under the guidance of a licensed nurse, you will engage in hands-on patient care, supporting individuals through various stages of treatment and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care tailored to age and developmental needs, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Provide skin care and take precautions to prevent skin breakdown.
• Assist with physical activities including repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
• Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions.
• Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
• Perform technical nursing procedures under supervision, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, nasopharyngeal suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, and patient assessments.
• Educate patients and families in collaboration with the primary nurse.
• Maintain clear communication with the healthcare team and promptly report any changes in patient condition.
• Document all care activities thoroughly and accurately in medical records.

Education

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education but not yet licensed.

Experience

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.

Requirements

• Strong mental focus and physical stamina to perform frequent lifting, walking, and other physical tasks.
• Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to infectious diseases and other health hazards.
