General Summary

The Assistant Diet Aide I is responsible for washing, sanitizing, and organizing patient and cafeteria trays, utensils, and dishware. Additionally, this role involves transporting food to patient areas and assisting with minor food production tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and air dry dishes and kitchenware according to assignment.
• Deliver patient meals promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Assemble patient trays following the menu guidelines.
• Complete temperature and cleaning logs to maintain sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Experience

Up to 3 months of food service experience, which can be gained through on-the-job training or prior work.

Certification/License

Not applicable.

Mental and Physical Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic math.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to read, write, and understand policies and procedures.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds during shifts.

Working Conditions

May have contact with patients. Exposure to heat, noise, wet floors, hot steam, water, chemicals, glass breakage, and sharp knives is expected in kitchen and ware washing areas.
