Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Promptly answers and directs telephone calls.
• Greets patients with respect and compassion.
• Communicates clearly with patients and their families, keeping them informed.
• Accurately collects and enters demographic and insurance information.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with privacy regulations.
• Schedules appointments following established protocols.
• Assists patients and guardians with patient portal setup and registration.
• Makes confirmation calls and guides patients to complete necessary paperwork online.
• Handles messages efficiently and updates patient records during each encounter.
• Verifies insurance coverage and collects co-payments at the time of service.
• Demonstrates accountability, teamwork, and reliability under pressure.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

Preferably two years in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting with customer service responsibilities.

Certification

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Requires considerable mental focus. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
