Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Clinic Laboratory Assistant, where you will perform essential pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical tasks to support patient care. In this role, you will prioritize and process incoming specimens following strict safety guidelines, verify physician orders for accuracy, and ensure proper labeling and timely distribution of samples. You will manage workload efficiently to meet or exceed turnaround times, resolve processing conflicts, and communicate with providers regarding re-collections when necessary. Responsibilities include performing quality control checks, collecting chain of custody drug screens, and adhering to protocols for glucose tolerance testing. You will also inventory laboratory supplies, maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, and assist with specimen collection using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or arterial methods while minimizing patient discomfort. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and hygiene protocols, and the ability to provide age-appropriate patient care instructions.

Education: High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience: At least one year of experience as a phlebotomist or laboratory assistant is preferred.

Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 50% of the time, lift up to 20 lbs, and maintain close mental and visual attention. Must be comfortable working in an environment with exposure to infectious materials and moderate noise levels. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
