Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS), providing expert care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures. This role involves direct patient care and accountability throughout all phases of cath lab operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cardiac cath lab procedures, including hemodynamic monitoring and electrocardiograph interpretation.
• Serve as the first scrub assistant for adult diagnostic and interventional cases such as PTCA, stents, IVUS, Angiojet, cutting balloon, IABP, Rotoblater, and permanent pacemaker or defibrillator insertions.
• Operate fluoroscopic equipment and assist in diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology (EP) studies, utilizing specialized EP equipment.
• Apply various radiographic injection techniques and manage hemodynamic recording and procedural documentation systems.
• Maintain proficiency with ACT and oximeter devices and possess strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Work collaboratively within a multifunctional team, prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Perform sheath removal and achieve hemostasis using manual and device-assisted methods.
• Manage supplies and equipment inventory, including requisitioning non-stock items and supporting regulatory tracking for implantable devices.
• Provide leadership and serve as a resource for staff regarding supplies and equipment, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Act as a liaison with the Materials Management department to ensure smooth operations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal ARRT, RCIS, LPN, RN, or allied health program, or at least one year of practical experience in the health field.

Experience

Preferred two years of experience in an interventional cardiac cath lab. Experience with peripheral vascular angiography and interventions is a plus.

Certification and Licenses

• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• IABP experience within six months of hire.
• Must hold CCI-RCIS and/or ARRT-CI credentials or obtain CCI-RCIS within 18 months of hire.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role requires standing and walking for extended periods, wearing lead aprons during procedures, and occasional stooping, crouching, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and sitting. Ability to support, push, pull, or lift weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds as needed.
