Education

Graduation from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program is required.

Experience

At least one year of respiratory therapy experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with clinical practices and patient care.

Certification and Licensure

Active credentialing by the National Board for Respiratory Care is highly preferred. Candidates must hold a valid state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory care treatments and monitor patient responses to improve safety and quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare policies.
• Adhere to safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families to enhance care outcomes.
• Participate in continuing education to keep skills and knowledge current.
• Support teamwork by assisting with orientation, clinical instruction, and departmental projects.

Physical and Mental Requirements
