Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Advanced Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). This role involves comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders through both in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and patient education.

General Summary

Under the supervision of the medical director or designee, you will perform duties that include applying electrodes and sensors, ensuring accurate data collection, and providing age-specific care for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. You will also oversee other sleep center staff and maintain compliance with established protocols and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize critical thinking and maintain current knowledge through continuing education.
• Perform equipment calibrations and monitor study quality to ensure artifact-free data.
• Document patient data accurately and generate reports to facilitate study interpretation.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and accreditation standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain equipment and inventory.
• Work independently while supporting teamwork and departmental goals.

Education

Completion of an accredited program in sleep technology leading to a certificate or associate degree, or equivalent experience with documented proficiency. Certification by a nationally recognized board such as RST, RPSGT, or SDS is required.

Experience

Previous experience as a polysomnographer is preferred.

Requirements

• Current registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Participation in at least 10 hours per year of sleep-related continuing medical education averaged over three years.

Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires frequent standing, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception is necessary.
