As a Registered Nurse in Surgery Services, you will collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and surgical staff to support patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your role involves utilizing sterile techniques and specialized equipment to ensure safe and effective surgical care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care encompassing medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and provide accurate information to the healthcare team.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data accurately to support compliance with core quality measures.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability within the care team.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of acute care nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in a Compact State or the state of Missouri.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
