Join a dynamic healthcare system serving a broad regional community in the Midwest as an Administrative Director of Medical Specialties. This leadership role is responsible for guiding the development and execution of clinical workflows and operational policies for nursing and medical assistant teams across multiple ambulatory clinics.

General Summary: Lead the creation and implementation of standardized care practices, competency management, and quality reporting. Own clinical policies, standards, and team-based care strategies across the ambulatory system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policies and clinical strategies for care team operations.
  • Oversee workflow implementation and standardization initiatives in partnership with operational managers.
  • Manage clinical quality reporting and outcome tracking across teams.
  • Provide guidance on nursing and medical assistant standards, education, safety, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and division chiefs on care delivery priorities.
  • Directly supervise clinic leadership within the Medical Specialties division.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or business is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential. Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards, as well as national healthcare trends impacting the division, is necessary.

Experience: A minimum of five years in healthcare, including operational and strategic roles, is required. Experience within specialties represented in the division and familiarity with division-specific initiatives are important. Proven management experience and working with medical groups and physicians are essential.

Certification/License: Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) credential is preferred. A valid motor vehicle license and commitment to continuing education are required.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This role demands considerable mental focus, the ability to communicate detailed information effectively, and extended concentration on diverse projects. The work is primarily sedentary but may require travel between facilities and occasional lifting of objects under 25 pounds.

Working Conditions: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively. Interaction with various department and hospital personnel is expected. The role requires adaptability to changing regulatory requirements.
