As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Medical Services, you will deliver direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical expertise and adhering to professional ethical standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Maintain and care for central lines while preventing surgical site infections according to policy.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to promote health outcomes.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards and improve outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to improve their healthcare experience.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license valid in the state or Compact Licensure.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification from Apex Innovations.

Mental and Physical Demands

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
