General Summary

The Advanced General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing medium-skill preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on equipment, systems, and facilities. This position requires strong technical abilities and attention to detail to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate skills and expertise to assess, assist, and perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Prioritize routine and ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance projects to meet facility needs and compliance standards.
• Monitor and document progress on maintenance tasks, including history, costs, safety, and compliance issues.
• Maintain open communication with staff and management regarding service requests, updates, and follow-ups.
• Coordinate with Plant Operations leadership on equipment maintenance, project status, facility needs, and compliance concerns.
• Communicate issues such as equipment downtime and repair costs to relevant managers.
• Adhere strictly to all safety standards, including setting up safety zones and using personal protective equipment as required.
• Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance calls, working independently or as directed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training of two years is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of two years of general maintenance experience required. Alternatively, five years of experience may substitute for formal technical training.

Mental/Physical Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, perform necessary calculations, and operate power tools and machinery. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 35 lbs without assistance. Must pass fit-testing and be able to wear an N-95 mask as needed.

Working Conditions

Work may involve long periods of standing and walking, exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, chemicals, and infectious materials. Interaction with patients may occur.
