Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with courtesy and efficiency.
• Warmly greet patients and communicate clearly with them and their families, keeping them well-informed.
• Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols.
• Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup and encourage portal use for registration and paperwork completion.
• Make confirmation calls and provide guidance on financial agreements and insurance coverage.
• Handle messages promptly and update patient records during each encounter.
• Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage at the time of service.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability while managing change and maintaining focus under pressure.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

Preferably two years in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting with customer service responsibilities.

Certification

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental and Physical Requirements
