This full-time role involves administering prescribed radiation doses safely and effectively using advanced therapy equipment, ensuring precise patient positioning and imaging according to treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation treatments accurately and consistently, adhering to established protocols.
• Perform daily safety and operational checks on linear accelerators and simulation devices.
• Simulate patients under physician guidance and fabricate custom immobilization devices as needed.
• Document treatments, schedule appointments, and manage charges through electronic health records.
• Provide patient education and reassurance, addressing questions and supporting families throughout treatment.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold ethical standards regarding patient rights.
• Train and supervise students or junior radiotherapy technologists.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology is required.

Experience: At least one year of radiation oncology experience is preferred. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Computer proficiency is advantageous.

Certifications & Licenses: Must hold or be eligible for registration as a Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Mental & Physical Requirements: This role demands considerable mental focus and the ability to work under stressful conditions related to patient care. Physical duties include lifting up to 60 lbs., frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions: Exposure to standard radiation safety hazards with minimal radioactive material exposure. Occasional contact with biohazardous materials and challenging situations may occur. Flexibility for on-call duties as scheduled is necessary.
