Job Details

Join a dedicated healthcare team serving a regional community in the Midwest. This role focuses on scheduling patient appointments, supporting operations through training and mentoring new staff, and maintaining accurate contact information. You will also assist with patient appointment reminders and help address outstanding account balances in collaboration with the medical group business office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support call center operations to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Increase patient appointment volume through excellent customer service and effective use of technology.
  • Maintain a professional and positive image during all phone interactions.
  • Handle distressed callers with patience and empathy, resolving issues or escalating when necessary.
  • Contribute to team goals and continuously update job knowledge through educational opportunities.
  • Ensure office equipment like printers and fax machines are operational by following procedures and reporting issues.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred candidates will have graduated from an accredited medical receptionist or similar program, or have two years of experience in healthcare or customer service.

Experience

At least two years of experience in a general medical office or call center environment is required. Clinic experience is preferred.

Certifications

Medical secretary or other medical technician/specialist certification from an accredited program is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to communicate detailed information clearly, maintain focus in a busy contact center, and possess strong computer skills including a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm. Knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling is advantageous. Occasionally lifting items up to 10 pounds and safe operation of a vehicle are required.
