Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Simulation Technician, where you will provide essential technical and mechanical support for a busy simulation center. Under the guidance of the Simulation Coordinator and Clinical Nursing Services Director, you will play a key role in preparing and maintaining simulation equipment that supports the training of healthcare learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of simulation and lab equipment, including operation manuals and catalogs.
• Program, operate, and troubleshoot patient simulators and cameras during simulation sessions, ensuring accurate physiological responses as specified by instructors.
• Set up and dismantle simulation lab equipment efficiently, often managing rapid turnovers.
• Provide theatrical production support such as costuming, moulage, and creating realistic wounds and fake body fluids for simulation scenarios.
• Maintain and repair a variety of simulation equipment including patient simulators, computers, monitors, task trainers, and multimedia peripherals; coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors to organize, maintain, and restock simulation and skills lab supplies.
• Offer technical assistance and training to faculty, instructors, and staff on simulation equipment usage.
• Assist with data collection for research or grant purposes and perform data entry into various databases.
• Support simulation activities for learners such as Medical Assistants, Patient Care Assistants, and Nursing Students, validating retention of learning objectives post-simulation using detailed checklists.

Education

An Associate Degree in healthcare or information management, or a combination of education, training, and experience that equips you with the necessary qualifications to perform the role.

Experience

Preferred: At least one year of clinical experience in a healthcare-related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to quickly learn new technologies. Experience maintaining confidentiality and proficiency with PC operations, MS Office, and audiovisual/computerized simulation software is required.

Certification

BLS Certification is mandatory and must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Environment
