Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Advanced EMT, providing essential basic life support and emergency care. This role involves patient assessment, airway management, and the use of life-saving equipment such as automatic defibrillators. You will assist patients with medication administration and ensure safe ambulance operation under all conditions, demonstrating thorough knowledge of local routes and addressing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and continuously monitor patient conditions, delivering rescue interventions per established protocols when direct medical control is unavailable.
• Apply critical thinking to evaluate patient needs and plan appropriate care.
• Delegate tasks to First Responders within their scope and assess their performance.
• Collaborate effectively with paramedic partners, maintaining tasks within your scope of practice.
• Perform advanced airway management techniques including King Airway insertion, C-PAP, and use of oral/nasal airways and Autovent.
• Apply splinting methods such as ladder, SAM, board, and traction splints, and implement spinal motion restriction.
• Coordinate patient care with healthcare teams and emergency service providers, ensuring smooth handoff with concise reporting.
• Operate ambulance safely and efficiently following policy guidelines.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and safe patient handling techniques.
• Document patient care accurately using required reporting forms.
• Communicate clearly with other departments and emergency services.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an approved state EMT program is mandatory.

Experience: One year of EMT experience preferred but not required.

Certifications and Licenses: Current state EMT license required. BLS and PHTLS certifications mandatory, with PHTLS and Class E driver's license to be obtained within six months of hire.

Mental and Physical Requirements: Requires considerable mental focus, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform activities such as walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Extended driving and managing stressful, traumatic situations are part of the role.

Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
