Key Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment following departmental policies and procedures.
• Accurately interpret physician orders and apply appropriate skills based on licensure and training.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist training program is required.

Experience

Preferred: At least one year of experience as a mammography technologist.

Certification and Licensure

Must be either a currently registered radiologic technologist (ARRT(R)) undergoing mammography training per MQSA guidelines with intent to pass the mammography registry when eligible, or a registered mammography technologist (ARRT(M)).

Mental and Physical Requirements

Requires close mental and visual attention for extended periods. Ability to work under stressful conditions due to patient needs and customer demand. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping.

Working Conditions

Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation. May require on-call availability on a scheduled or regular basis.
